The Course

It's a 10K (6.2 miles) with lots of the entertainment and excitement of the Half!

Not up to the 13.1 miles just yet? Or maybe your legs aren’t going to be quite recovered from the marathon or half marathon you have scheduled yourself to run a few weeks before the Alamo Run Fest? Well, you can still be part of the ARF '‘happenings” with great entertainment and an exciting finish for the Alamo 10,000 too! It will be a fun and challenging 6.2 miles through the streets of downtown San Antonio. You can be assured the course distance will be 'certified' prior to the event so you'll know you're running a true 6.2 miles.

Starting in the shadow of the majestic Alamodome, the Alamo 10,000 is run on a mostly flat course through downtown, passing by numerous historic landmarks before finishing inside the Alamodome. Fluid replenishment stations will be set up at regular intervals throughout the course (see course map). The Alamo 10,000 is chipped timed.  Event will be sanctioned by USA Track & Field (sanction pending).

San Antonio loves champions… and you’re a one of them for simply going through what it takes to prepare and step up to the starting line.

The 2017 Alamo 10,000 route was our the best yet!  Check it out  We'll be working to make the 2018 similar!

For safety reasons and the fact that USATF insurance does not cover bicycles, skateboards, scooters, pets, roller skates, inline skates or roller blades, they will NOT be permitted on the course. Baby joggers and strollers will be allowed however you will be asked to start at the back of the 'pack', insure your child is secured in your stroller/jogger and not run/walk with others in such a way as to impede other participants on the course.

The 10K course will remain open for 2 hours and 30 minutes, from when the last runner has crossed the START line during the official Start.  Any runners starting the race after the official start, will be subject to the course time restrictions based on the course closure time from the official start If (once finalized) a portion of the course overlaps with the last section of the Alamo Half, then it may remain open longer than other non-overlapping sections. The rolling closure of the non-overlapping sections of the course is based on an approximate pace of 18 minutes per mile.

Entry fees are non-refundable
